I only send boarding passes when:
1) purchased out of country
2) longer than 4 segs.
Have yet had an issue with the posting of the points.
3) I also mail them in if the airport codes fail to post on my statement (thus citibank does not know how many flight points to award).
Points post to my account on the statement following the receipt of a letter stating the amount of points to be credited.
