To cancel or not to cancel? (Domestic one-way trip, low fare)

I have a domestic one-way trip (no return legs) scheduled for tomorrow with a fare of less than the $150 change fee. Is there any reason to cancel the trip rather than simply not to show up? While speaking to an AA rep a few days ago, it appeared that there was no benefit to me one way or the other.

(Yes, this is one of those times where the WN approach comes in handy.)
