wow, thats a little cranky.

I think its a little classless to ignore a paying customer..who will likely be tipping you ... because he/she wanted to sit under good lighting.

I fail to see the "making life difficult" part of this? The table is going to be cleaned anyway..right? Unless the restaurant was in the habit of leaving tables unbussed for long periods of time... I don't see how any offense is caused.
