And wait for another 20% hike in redemption mileage cost? See, until the Canadian government starts to regulate fuel surcharge for Canadian carriers, the way YQ is levied will remain a blackbox. I don't know how likely is it that price of oil will be less than what it is now by 2010 so there is no guarantee that YQ will be lower then. Sure, there is the hedging fiasco but that's Air Canada's fault for making the mistake - customers should not be asked to foot a bill that is AC's own doing otherwise, stop calling it a fuel surcharge and just raise price.
