A friend was comped to an upper elite status on USAir this year, but rarely flew them. He has two systemwide upgrades and a bunch of the 800-mile ones, and asked me if they really are as non-transferable as the "rules" imply (only valid for a companion flying with him). I told him I had no idea (haven't flown US in ages) but I'd ask the experts.

So are they just good for framing if he doesn't fly US any more?
