I do believe that if we don't exercise our rights, we'll lose them. This particular piece of advice came from a legal scholar and a law enforcement officer. I'd be curious to hear what you think of the talk they gave. You haven't suggested that anything they said was incorrect or misguided.
They're entitled to their opinion just like everyone else. I have not watched the full video because I'm still at work, but I have never had a problem talking to LEOs before becoming one. Just because they're in the same line of work, does not mean they are going to be more credible in something that can be pretty subjective. To me, those that are so quick to shun away or refuse to talk have something to hide. If you are not guilty of anything, why so worrisome? We're not talking about not paying parking tickets here. It sounds to me that you all are playing LEOs to be a bunch of drones who are dying to lock someone up. Discretion is exercised far more than many in the public would believe, but the line has to be drawn somewhere.
