Undoubtedby, it will need to be swept and cleared by the Secret Service before they allow the President-elect to fly on it. I used to work at LAX and our company handled Air Force One flights and I remember some of the security protocols we had to observe.

Since it's a chartered plane, which would be taken out of United's inventory of available planes, and considering the need to keep the plane secure... I imagine this plane is sitting in a hanger at HNL.

If United already has a set schedule of old crappy/beat-up planes to and from (SFO, DEN, ORD, LAX, Narita & HNL), this charter plane would be expensive to fly back into regular service, empty, and then back to HNL, versus just sitting on the ground for the next 13 or so days.


Doesn't make since, especially around the holidays when the loads are lighter.
