First I don't begrudge the president-elect of proper travel as the incoming head of state however
1. Did he have to charter a 767 c'mon in these tough economic times is that really the right thing to do for the perception of the american or global public - did we not just rake over the coals the car executives for flying in on private planes to DC
2. Chartered for security purposes? Like you need a 767 for that - first he could have borrowed Oprah's jet, he could have chartered a MUCH smaller jet to get him there albeit let the press take a commercial seat on a scheduled carrier OR could he have not taken an air force plane like Condi Rice does granted it's not Air Force 1 but there are 757's and smaller than can do that trip.
3. If he said he is going to change all the light bulbs in the white house to go green and he is going to walk the talk - then why not think about that before stepping aboard your own 767 - the carbon footprint is enormous! Surely something smaller would be more suitable.

And YES he should have a vacation surely a much needed and proper time to morn his loss with his family.
