Update on my name change - I sent in a FAX with the necessary data, and I noticed my name was changed sometime afterwards. It didn't sink in, however, that they changed it from First Initial, Middle Name to First Name, Middle Initial! Now I have the same glitch as before, the travel agent uses my full name, but the Skymiles account has only middle initial. A post I can totally relate to! My first name was to honor my mother's favorite auntie but it's an old antiquated name. I hate it. I go by my middle name except when I'm flying (or using certain credit cards)
When I got married, all the airlines but DL would do a name change based on my new driver's license. DL required me to also send in my marriage license. I did it via fax.
I do know that you can get three names on your DL SMS card and in my case my AmEx Skymiles card. Fax back and ask them to make the change in clear language telling them exactly what you want it to reflect.
In my case it would be hypothetically Zipa Dee Jones. I know that they can show all three names on your card and reservation. However, I will say all four of my names are short ones
