If I avoided every restaurant that charged me the tax last weekend I would have gotten very hungry because I think just about every one I visited put it on the bill.

I personally don't much care about SF politics, and this is not really a political issue - it's an issue of the restaurant owners doing the wrong thing (adding a surcharge to the bill rather than simply setting prices to reflect the cost of doing business in their chosen places of doing business).
