I generally agree. I don't see the value for status members. The regular Amex Platinum is a better value for those folks with the FHR program, other lounge access, and things like *wood gold and easy (5 night) Fairmont Plat. Unfortunately only 1.25 miles/$, but you're not restricted to exchanging them for AP. Much better value for the elite member.
