There were three of us (in our party) wanting ice cream the other day going to JFK in F. Ice cream was on the menu with some other pudding, and they obliged with three "plain" ice creams - altho a very tiny 'half-scoop' as there wasn't enough to go around, they said.
Was a far cry from ice cream en route from SYD to Singapore earlier in the year - they had chocolate, vanilla and strawberry to choose from. Asked for 2 scoops and they filled a plate - massive, incredibly tasty, and certainly no room on the plate (or in my tummy) for a third flavour. Best airline pudding ever.
KenJohn is right tho - first time I was ever served ice cream on board it took 15 mins before I could even get a spoon into it. Its rock solid from the freezers - you can actually pick it up and throw it around (if you wanted)... Now that would make for a fun in-flight game.
