Hi all,


I am typing this message as I sit in a very nice room at the Westin Financial Street.

I booked using SPG.com and had a pretty good rate (~1000RMB including taxes and free internet in room). Definitely a great value as other members were suggesting.

They also upgraded me to the club floor (I am not a plat - just Gold ) which never happened to me before at a SPG property. Interestingly, they did not give me Executive Club benefits and it was embarassing for me to go into the club lounge just now to be turned away.... which kind of was a let down after getting all excited about the upgrade. I am not complaining (after all, I do quite like my room) but I thought it would have been a lot better had they told me about the benefits not being included when they said they upgraded me to the club floor.

More reports to come on SPG hotels - I spent one week at the Westin Chosun and now I am here, so I will write some more comprehensive reviews on these two hotels soon!
