KLM 747 to Asia - miserable seats in business class upstairs

I recently flew KLM business class (upstairs) to Taipei, returning via Hong Kong. I found the seats to be ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. The legrest does not raise up high enough and is too short (meaning if you put your feet on the footrest, your legs are too bent) and the entire seat shifts for the "lay down" option - the seat and back end up at an angle that it was nearly impossible for me to get comfortable. Others were also complaining about the seats, so I know it was not just me. I'm 5' 4" (or less) and small.

I regularly fly Continental 767 business class from Europe to the US, and I can sleep comfortably for the entire flight. What a horrible experience with the KLM seats.

I have to fly to the far east again in April - any suggestions for better seats? (I will fly Singapore economy from Zurich to Singapore in February.)
