People are rebooked all the time, and come back through the checkpoint with SSSS boarding passes as a result, and they're not exempted simply because they were rebooked. (I generally advise them to try to get the airline to give them a non-SSSS boarding pass in the future.)
If they can present their original non-SSSS boarding-pass alongside their new SSSS one, I thought they were supposed to be exempt. (Not an issue in airports with only one checkpoint, just show your non-SSSS BP; but at airports where different airlines are in gates areas not connected airside it becomes an issue.)
