Hilton does not give the amazing Starwood upgrades, though I will be given free breakfast as a Hilton diamond. Should I pay an extra 40 euros to ensure myself of a room in the palace building? I'm gold in both SPG and Hilton, so the transfer isn't that bad for me. The free breakfast should certainly be nice. The downside is that I was planning a 2 night award stay next year. The hotel is often C&P on SPG, but Hilton tends to be stingy on their somewhat comparable "point stretcher" deals. For instance, there is not a single night available for point stretcher in Paris through May. So to get maximum value with Hilton, you need to redeem that 4-night AXON award. Unless you're willing to use this property as a base for a Paris vacation, you probably don't want to spend 4 nights here.
