Shure repair service experiences?

I have a pair of Shure E2c's that are not working right. One ear is playing much softer than the other. I've checked it with multiple devices. It is way out of warranty so its around ~$50 to repair according to Shure.

Do they actually repair or just send you a refurb or new set?
