Just wondering why I consistently get cheaper United fares quoted on one of those multiple airline search sites as opposed to using the exact same dates and itinerary search on the United site itself. I assume this is not unique to United? I would much rather purchase my tickets directly from United but when I can get them $200 cheaper on a search site I'm going to have to go with them. Is there some catch I'm not noticing? I've heard that fares purchased through one of these generic sites might not qualify for FF miles so that could be a big difference.
Or maybe I'm doing something wrong in my United search or what?
