IME National will allow the reservation but charge for two days. So on the estimate screen you'd see the base rate x 2 but anything else (fees, LDW, etc.) charged for the actual time, which would be one day. They must figure then that way people will either extend it to two days or go elsewhere, thus achieving the same objective.
