If you read German, have a look at
http://www.llv.li/pdf-llv-apa-merkblatt-visum.pdf where on page 2, point 7 you may read that the traveler will have to report at the Buchs police station or the Schaanwald border post. (opening hours of the latter are mentioned in the document)
Re-reading the document, the stamps are only needed for onward travel to other Schengen states. (so not for travel to only Switzerland or Austria)
