Bus is definitely faster. But train is more convenient. When travelling KUL-SIN, you donlt have to get off the train in JB. You have to get your stuff off the train only at Woodlands check point. You stilll have to take your stuff off at the check point even if you are traveling by bus. The night train in 1st class sleeper is a pretty good option.
