Aerolineas Argentinas price dependence on residence country: US/UK/AR/DE ...

I've seen the famous thread from a while ago on this http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/argen...a-flights.html thread but it seems to deal mostly with the issue of whether one is an Argentine resident or not.

I might have to book a flight from FTE - USH and USH - AEP where LAN doesn't have a schedule I need. So I'm considering AR despite many horrendous threads about it.

I've noticed that when price the same itin with different "Residence country" option we get different prices. It is obvious that choosing Argentina as a resident country would yield the cheapest fare (in which I'm sure I'm not eligible). But when I try US, Germany, Spain, and UK it turns out that for the same flight on the same date that is ~$100 to AR resident, it's ~$300 for US and UK, ~$200 for Germans, etc.

I am a permanent resident (and citizen) of Thailand, which is not listed in the residence country list What do you guys think I should do? Would it be okay to say I'm in Germany to get the $200 price?

Thanks a lot!
