My wife and I are both UA elite flyers (Premier Executive) and when we take our 6 month old with us (who herself has logged around 30 flights before her 1st birthday), we will usually take the elite line because we have become masters at folding up the car seat and stroller and since we can get through security so quickly, we don't appreciate being shuttled over to the "family line" which in my opinion should be labeled differently (maybe "new to flying" or "infrequent traveler") because as elite flyers, we more than earned the right to use the elite line and anyone watching us can tell that we certainly do not "hold up" the line

My thoughts on flying with young children are well known and not worth repeating. Nonetheless, you are an elite and have earned the right to use the elite lines with your wife and child. As you've noted, as an elite and a frequent flier, you've developed the skills necessary to get your family through security quickly. It seems to me that if the private line barkers or TSA try to shuttle you to the "slow lane," you should tell them what to do with their "suggestion" and proceed to the elite line.
