Doesn't matter if its high season or not, the lowest oneway D fare is the same all year round. The difference would be what you paid for and the lowest oneway D fare.

I had a oneway from HKG to FRA in Aug in economy. Decided to upgrade to Business all the way and when it was reissued, was only a difference of about US$700. I reissued it through my agency, and was therefore billed in USD.

But of course you have to pay in local currency... in BKK. QR doesn't use their 'own' rate of exchange. But rather what the difference in the fare is, converted to USD, and then reconverted to THB.. but based on their CSR. It will not what the bank says. Best is for you to have paid it by creditcard.
Well that surprises me. I paid for a return economy ticket that cost £480 LHR-BKK-LHR. What do you reckon the cost of upgrading the return part to D class would have been?

They did not offer the option of credit card payment. I don't know what CSR means but the point I am making is that the charge was 800 Baht higher than the value of $400 converted to Baht on the day of travel.

Thanks for your reply.
