This one I actually heard once myself on a US flight LAS-MSP on 30/31 Dec 2007 It was the redeye that arrives into MSP at like 5am or 530am-ish..(the didnt say today.. they said.. tonight) The reason being was the entire descent,approach and landing into MSP was an severely Bumpy ordeal and the vis. was very low and we didnt see the airport until we were practically right over the airfield. The entire approach as extremely bumpy. The flight was a bit bumpy over the Rockies as well.
