I am waitlisted for a Y-C upgrade (PA waitlist) LAX-SYD on 3/19 and have been told by a number of my UA angels that C is overbooked (substantially) , F is full or very close and that Y is undersold. Surrounding dates and routes (SFO-SYD) all show similar disproportionate (hi C and F) loads.

So two questions for the experienced UA flyers and perhaps our UA lurkers here:
1. I presume that I have next to no chance of using my SWU?

2. Anyone know what's going on Down Under at this time and how often UA allow overbooking of C
