If you have not printed out the ticket (at Quik-Trak or the ticket window), you can cancel right up to the train time and get a full refund.
And if you neither cancel nor pick it up before the train departs, you should get a full refund automatically.
Sleepers, business class, and Acela Express do require cancellation prior to departure (sleepers 7 days prior; the others one hour).
