Quick point to bring up: While ATM's do provide the better rate usually, and ones found in airports are usually quite reliable, some may offer to perform the conversion for you in a rate they specify on the screen, or to have your bank do it as normal. It's almost always better to let your bank perform the exchange... typically, the rate will still be better, and many banks charge fees on ALL foreign transactions, even those charged in USD.
