Definitely not.

I am completely against any SSSS random harassment.

ID checking does absolutely nothing for security. A 14 year old with a $1500 computer can create an ID that 99+% of all people checking it, including ex-law enforcement TSA will not be able to tell whether it's fake. And it's even harder if two people, both with valid IDs and similar features exchange IDs.

I am an expert in the field of ID inspection. I've been to classes, I've checked literally thousands of IDs, and I've closely watched the police do it too. There is no way a TSA agent or a Gate Agent has anywhere near the level of expertise required to tell if a person isn't who they claim to be, nor do they have the time or resources, as that process takes 5-15+ minutes and involves several computer checks, which still might not detect the fake/misrepresented ID.

Moreover, it is none of the government's business who travels, and when. If the airlines want to check IDs for revenue protection, then that is their business. But it is definitely not the TSA's.
