[QUOTE=deniah;10884840]just remembered for a high-redemption tirp, i could just use CO mile for 1-way and UA on the return
huh? You cannot book one-way rewards on either carrier. Well, you can, but they cost the RT price. You will be able to
fly CO one way, and UA the other, but you will not be able to use both sets of miles for a ticket.

Doubt it. CO doesn't filter now, why would they start all of a sudden? UA has said they will formally respond to this issue in a few weeks, but if anything, this will put more pressure on UA. I would imagine there are a lot more CO miles out there than US miles so there will be a lot more users who can compare results. Plus if CO has a number of Star partners available on their website for redemption (sort of how they have quite a few partners on their site now), this would make it far more obvious and possibly be significant pressure for UA to address this issue.
