All programs are devaluing, as stated. I think you're better off to keep moderate balances and burn then as you earn them. I'd like to keep all programs at enough for 2-3 flights/a week-long stay and burn it back down when it gets higher. I've burned 1.2M in US points over the last 3 years in anticipation of this outcome. Unfortunately, I can burn hotel points fast enough.
Man, we could have used you over in the Marriott program with its recent changes. I took a beating for saying what you just did.........
