most likely what she sprayed was oust which is a good air sanitizer but thats because the propellant lowers the oxygen content in the air temporarly while it kills bacteria and odor (for which the oxygen content is lowered because of the pressurized atmosphere in the cabin, but not to hypoxic levels normally in the airplane cabin) which is why people where having a hardtime breathing as it really dropped it to hypoxic or near hypoxic levels.
We use oust at work but we only use a 1 sec shot in the back of the truck as thats all thats needed, but then again there are many other biological odor eliminaters that work much better without stench or causing discomfort to others in the area
I wouldn't be complaining to HQ about the FA being proactive in keeping the plane clean, but i would be sending a note about what happened and her attitude as that shows that remedial training on customer service and safety need to be done. her comments about letting her know of your allergies is BS because you cant read someones mind and i dont think the cabin staff is going to let passengers go through there bag to make sure theres nothing thats going to cause passengers issues.
Then again how did they get it onboard with the stupid TSA restrictions
