I have about 1M UA points and about 500K Marriott points.

Both companies have just announced serious devaluations to their programs (and my points).

I plan to spend time over Christmas (but before Jan 1st and Jan 15th respectively) finding a way to blow all these points on a great trip for the family.

After that, I can status match somewhere else.

While I am at it, I have about 700K Amex points, and it's getting harder to see the value in paying $450 per year for a Platinum card. A new TV or a bunch of VS first class tickets? Decisions, decisions...
