On a recent AA flight, the FA changed the usual script we all hear after takeoff telling us where the lav's are and not to congregate in the front of the aircraft etc etc. This FA said that ALL lavatories are available for ALL PASSENGERS, then added the boilerplate announcement about not congregating. In other words, Y could use F class lav's. All lavatories were in operation so this wasn't due to a maintenance issue back in Y. I believe this flight was DFW to SFO.
I meant to ask her if this was a new policy but frankly forgot about it and just remembered as I was reading another post on FT.
Has anyone else heard a similar announcement lately?
I don't know if it's a new policy, but I do know they were reported for claiming it was an FAA regulation that prevented passengers from using the lavs not in their class. For domestic travel, there is no such regulation.
