I had the pleasure of staying at the Le Meridan Chiang Mai last month. The hotel was great. The service great, as expected.

The hotel towers above the night bazzar in Chiang Mai, at the corners of Chang Klang and Loi Crow roads. Clean and crisp, it looks great. Elephant statues greet you at the porte-cochère, and the large marble laid lobby welcomes you even before the warm smiles of the staff do.

I was greeted and led to the registration counter, with the staff very eager to showcase themselves and the services they've been trained to provide. The concierge introduced herself as the duty manager that weekend and invited me to enjoy myself and to let them know how they could make my stay any better.

After a scurry to find my Platinum Folder, I was pleased to be informed that I'd been upgraded to a corner suite. I had to ask about a lounge, but was happy to hear they had one and access to the floor was already programed to my key card.
The check-in agent showed me up to my room. A lovely large and very comfortable corner suite.

We took care of the credit card and passport details and the usual in-room check-in formalities and she proceeded to show me the suite. Here are some more photos of the room.

Bedroom looking out

The center pillar has a FlatScreen TV on both the Bedroom side and the Living Room side

With the sliding doors open, a real open area feeling

As I said before the room was lovely. I quickly took some photos, then took some time to freshen up and enjoy the privacy of the room.

The view looking towards the Old City is great. My apartment is just beyond the one white taller building in the middle right of the picture.

Small fruitplate was preset in the room.

Floor Map... On many floors they have 4 such suites. 30? 50? I forget, but it's many. Even on a points stay, they seem to pre-assign these to Platinums.

At the entrance, a left turn leads to the washroom, closet corridor

Small but simple toilet with sink can be accessed from the living room or from the bedroom side. A door after the closet can close off the hallway between this washroom and the main bedroom washroom area.

Large Walk-in Closet

His & Hers Wash Basins and Shower only a few steps from the bed

That's one HUGE Bathtub. Corner windows have dropdown shades for privacy.

Once the doors are closed, lots of privacy. And still a very bright feeling to the room.

Of the 2 Large Flat Screen TVs, the one in the Living Area also has a DVD and a BOSE clock radio

Above, the floor plan of the Lounge Floor. Below the Entrance to the Lounge

Food Service Area in the lounge opposite to the seating area below.

The Upper Floor Mezzanine level of the lounge is small and overlooks the seating area above.

Also on the upper lounge level, a conference room is available.

Swimming pool on one of the lower levels (2, 3, 4.. I forget)

Fitness Center is on the same level as the Pool and Spa.

The only picture I took at the spa. Couples massage room, with His & Hers showers, Soaker Tub

Restaurant on the Lobby level has a couple seating areas. This is the main portion.

The Bar in the middle of the lobby looks great.
I hear they have a nightclub theme once a week, with DJ and all.

Open area Lobby area that appears to have lounge service as well.

I've just posted all the pictures... will add comments and then a small report on my stay ASAP
