I can't believe how much crying is going on over a meal option and the fact that we gave a $50 voucher. We run out sometimes and other times some people don't like the food options. We can't please everyone, but in all reality the company does it's best. For those of you who think we should cater the world's supply of food on the plane is just not realistic. Regardless if it costs $5.00 to make the meal it would still cost thousands in wasted money and food. If the company felt it was cost effective it would be done. For what we serve in first class and the price that is paid I think we offer a pretty good deal.
As for those who seem to think we the Flight Attendants steal food in all my thousands of flights myself and none of my co-workers have stolen from our passengers. Just because you see us eating something offered on that flight doesn't mean it was from the flight. There are plenty of times where a meal option from the past flight is left over and we just wrap it up and eat it when we please or if someone sends something back that was never touched and we want it we eat it. As for the whole shrimp thing it really concerns me someone could possibly know the exact amount of shrimp catered for the salad. The shrimp is catered in a separate container and alot of times people will ask for the shrimp/chicken to not be placed on the salad. So there you go there is crew shrimp/chicken for our taking! So please refrain from calling my co-workers and I thieves, we are still paid pretty well and can afford our own food and manage not to pluck a shrimp here and there. It's very disrespectful and demeaning.
