yeah, i'm finding the UA office in HKG to be a bunch of idiots. but my agent finally did confirm that the fare is the KRW fare converted to HKD though i don't know what the rate is yet... unfortunately have to do it this way as we're leaving this weekend and don't have time to go up to Korea to deal with it.
i suspect the problem you're having is related to too infrequent updates of the exchange rates in the airlines' systems-i have generally found these exchange rates to be quite competitive but with the wild fluctuation in rates right now things might be a bit more messed up in the short-term.
couple of questions for you all:
- my agent says that the change/reissue fee is $125 per sector after travel has begun. is this true? shouldn't it be $125 for an entire reissue no matter how many sectors i am touching
- does it matter what airlines' ticket stock i use... i asked my agent to use UA so i can call them and change things easily (as I've had problems with SQ-ticket stock RTWs in the past). but this shouldn't really matter, right? can't any airline change the RTW once travel has begun.
sorry if i haven't had the time to do searches to get these answers. i'm finding this all a bit more stressful than i anticipated and have to get this ticket issued very soon.
