As an MVP Gold, there would have been no telephone booking fee (unless it were a partner reservation). But the way the call went suggests to me that the CSR may not have been aware the Web site was kaput and asking to waive the fee may not have worked unless I'd chatted with a supervisor, if a fee had applied in my case.
