Very interesting...Is this in writing anywhere on the US website? The only info I could find on *G bagagge allowance was fom the link in the original post...
The following passengers are exempt** from the first and second checked bag fee, but not any applicable weight fees:
.All Dividend Miles Preferred members (Silver, Gold, Platinum and Chairman’s Preferred)
.Passengers traveling to and from Europe, or to and from Asia
.Star Alliance Silver and Gold status members
.Unaccompanied minors (with US Airways unaccompanied minor paid assistance)
.Confirmed First Class and Envoy passengers at time of check-in
.Active U.S. military personnel with ID (first through third bag up to 100 lbs/45 kg each free of charge).
I note that there is something in the Dividend Miles Elite benefits which indicates that
US gold and above get an additional checked bag for free, but of course I would not expect *G are entitled to all of the same benefits as US gold.
