Well, I read the whole thing so if you want to drop off some bottles at my place tomorrow when you are in Sydney, let me know.

But, I really don't get the story. You have an itinerary consisting of LH and QF. So why have you talked to SQ?

And was your luggage checked through (on the tags, since you stopped in the US there is no real checking through of course)? If yes, then QF is the only airline responsible for getting the bags to you.
And they have a big luggage desk in MEL and their phone number is easy to find: http://www.qantas.com.au/needhelp/dy...aggageServices

If your luggage hasn't been checked through, call LH in Australia: 1300 655 727. Their call centre is in MEL.

Those phone numbers are really easy to find.

What's the point about worldtracer? It can only report what someone has put it. Garbage in, garbage out.

Last but not least, I am surprised LH didn't put the bag onto a flight to SIN/BKK and then MEL. The bags could have been in MEL before you got there.
I had similar situations with AA in the past and they managed to get my bags to my hotel before I arrived. Didn't even need to carry my bags anymore. ^
