The following is an email that I received from UA Customer Relations on the 27th of last month. I emailed UA Customer relations on February 20th so confirmation took only 1 week, the magical day that Gene had told us about in so many posts. Thanks again Gene.

I apologize for your dissatisfaction with our "Early Bird" promotion.
The promotion's intent was to give a total of four times the flight
miles (including 1K 100% bonus). Due to the verbiage on the 1K only web
site where it could be interpreted as five times the flight miles, our
Marketing Department has agreed to honor the five times the flight miles
for our 1K members viewing the 1K only web site. These additional miles
that were not initially credited with your flights through March will be
added after the promotion ends on March 31, 2004.
