Assuming you want a city hotel and nothing resort-y, then I'd spring for the JW Marriott or the Conrad. Both are very good hotels, centrally located on Sukhumvit with plenty to do all around, and fairly easily accessed from the airport. For Starwood, Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit is also an alternative, although I haven't stayed there myself.
