I have a RT DCA-ZRH ticket in December, but after I arrive in ZRH in the morning I need to continue to PRG or VIE. I booked it separately because originally I was supposed to spend some time in Zurich.

Baggage allowance on th TATL flight will be 2x23kg, but on an intra-Europe ticket, it will only be 20kg. My TATL flight is on Delta and I can continue on AF or KLM.

Since my baggage would be over the limit of the second flight, will it be possible to check it all the way to the final destination, as all the flights are on the same alliance? (I've done this before, but only the other way around where the weight didn't matter). Will they deny checking it in all the way through or charge me somehow in Europe at some point?

Any ideas are greatly apprectiated!
