for info, if it makes any difference, my cc was charged with a substantial, if not 100% portion at the time of booking about 2 months ago (cant check at mo as hilton site is timing out).
Clarification - I think they've pre-charged my cc the pre-tax room charges and not the tax (not currently sure).
