I found an itinerary I want to ticket for 90k TYP. Expedia shows the base fare as $2598. With slightly different dates I can get the base fare to $2702. The taxes are additional (and I really don't mind paying them). I'd rather ticket the second to claim an extra ~$100 with my points, but I'm unclear on a couple of things.
  • Is what Expedia shows as the base fare exactly the same as what the TYP people see?
  • What happens if what I want is $2 more than the allowed amount?
