Never tipped the dry cleaner in my life. When I had my hair cut at a salon, I gave the sylist a tip equal to the amount of a haircut. Now I go to a $13 barber and give him a $20 and he seems pretty happy. I've never tipped a personal trainer, a golf instructor, or anyone else who provides personal instruction. At my golf club, I try to give holiday tips to the people who have provided me and my family extraordinary service - usually one or two of the waiters and one of the bartenders. I feel like I tip pretty well during the course of the year, so I don't feel the need to walk around handing out tons of cash at the holidays. Nor do I make a special trip or visit to a place just to provide tips. If I'm in an establishment to see someone who's provided great service during the year, I tip. If not, I try not to sweat it. There's only so much cash to go around. I do tip my mailman and garbage men, however.
