this is in my Skywards E News email, received just (3 Dec):

"Lounge access update for Skywards Gold and Silver members

"Given the exceptional growth of Emirates, our lounge facilities at Emirates Terminal 3 can no longer accommodate Skywards Gold and Silver members travelling in Economy Class. However, members are invited to enjoy the Emirates Business Class lounge near Gate 122 in Terminal 1 of Dubai International Airport."

What an appalling fiasco. It is a huge lounge, massive, only just opened, and never crowded, but they are now not letting gold and silver Y passengers in any more! Effectively it has become a lounge just for J and F passengers.

As a Y passenger, the main perk of having a gold card is use of the lounge. Now I will have a 20 minute walk back to the old terminal and the old lounge, which will be full of gold and silver Y passengers.

I really think this is an appalling decision.
