Yes, the UK is a part of Europe, but there are also another 26 EU nations, plus a bunch of other non-EU nations still in Europe. Perhaps if the OP is a bit more specific on routing, we can give him further assistance.
In addition, while Switzerland is now going to function as a part of the Schengen Zone, airports in Switzerland will not be participating in the program until March 2009.
Thanks for your responses. It looks like I have a choice of the better seat on LH (how much better is it?) or better service on LX.
I'm looking at IST-ZRH/MUC-MAN. I know there's a direct IST-MAN flight on TK, but the flight times (and award availability) don't work as well as on LX/LH.
