Sometimes, it makes sense to use a 7 night certificate for shorter stays, depending on the situation. For example, last year we used a 7 night certificate for 4 nights at the Shelbourne in Dublin, and felt the value was okay. In your situation, does it make sense to lengthen the stay in Capri and shorten the stay in Rome? I don't hold out much hope for Marriott waiving the rule.
