Nope.
Awards cannot be upgraded. More generally I is not upgradable be it I as an award on miles or I as an ug from coach as the latter would be a double upgrade which also is barred.
Of course, HONs are sometimes exempt from these restrictions and SENs and HONs can be op-upped from award levels. But this is not what you are aiming at.
You can however against a small change fee change to the O award level. Thanks to LH's fancy split awards (one way in I and way in O) this would not even be tooooo expensive.
